A celebration of life for Robert E. Zimmerman will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at the Crates Life Appreciation Centre, 219 W. Sandusky St., Findlay.

He died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at his residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Public Library.

Coldren-Crates Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born Sept. 18, 1947 in Bremerton, Wash., to Walter Zimmerman Sr. and Monica A. (Thibault) Zimmerman.

He married Monika Platzer in Feucht, Germany, and she survives in Findlay.

Also surviving are a daughter, Antje Ramm (Bill Chambers) of Plain City; a son, Chris (Veronica) of Vanlue; four grandchildren, Justin Franks, Jessica Franks, Devin Zimmerman and Brandon Zimmerman; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Dixon of Lake Worth, Fla., and Carol (Bill) Mulholland of McGuffey; a sister-in-law, Marlene Zimmerman of Findlay, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Walter.

Bob graduated form Kenton High School. He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked as a life insurance agent and financial planner for almost 50 years.

During that time he earned his CLU and ChFC designations.

His client’s wellbeing was always very important to him. He will be missed.

Bob enjoyed cars and was known to trade when he found an unusual car.

His weekly trip to the library was another habit. A book was always close at hand.
