Reece M. Lane Posted on November 2, 2019 0 Age, 84Ada, Ohio Services for Reece M. Lane will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada by Pastor Mark Bayliff. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with graveside military rites conducted by Ada VFW Post 9381 Honor Guard. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. He died at 3:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born on July 9, 1935 in Rosslyn, Kentucky, to the late Walker and Ida Belle (Fryar) Lane. On Nov. 23, 1957 Reece married Grace Jenkins and she survives in Ada. Also surviving are two sons, Scott (Ruth) Lane of Kalida and Steven (Gail) Lane of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Patricia (Roy) Stephens of Lima; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis Center of Cleveland, Tenn., and Joyce Turner of Greenville. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Clay, Dewey, Oren, Floyd, Hubert and Wayne Lane; and seven sisters, Ruth Estes, Enzie Oaks, Bonnie Melton, Nora McKenzie, Faye Lewis, Dorothy Lane and Florence Lane. Reece retired after 20 years from Cooper Tire Company of Findlay, where he worked as a millwright. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict serving from 1953 to 1955. He was a life member of the VFW Post 9381 and Union Chapel Missionary Church, Lima.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
