The event is sponsored by HMH, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Ridgemont FFA, the Forest Police Department and ONU HealthWise.Times photo/Dan Robinson Hardin Memorial Hospital in partnership with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise, Ridgemont FFA and the Forest Police Department will be collecting expired and unused prescription medicines and over-the-counter drugs at Medication Disposal Day on Saturday. The medications will disposed of in a safe, legal and environmentally conscious manner, according to a press release from the hospital. Medications, medicated lotions, inhalers and sunscreens will be accepted from personal homes only. None will be taken from physician, dentist or veterinary offices and no used syringes will be accepted. There are four locations which will be taking the items on Saturday. They include Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton. Drivers should enter off Memorial Avenue and exit onto E. Franklin Street. In Ada, the collection point will be at the parking lot beside Rite-Aid. Drivers should enter off of Main Street and exit onto College Avenue. In Forest, the location is at the municipal building at 211 W. Lima St., and the Ridgemont Schools will be the drop-off point in Mount Victory. Drivers should enter on the east side of the Ridgemont school. The take-back service is free and open from 9 a.m. to noon.
