Main break shuts off water service in Kenton Posted on April 28, 2016 0 Kenton city workers watch this morning as water is pumped from the site of a water main break on Legion Boulevard near the water treatment plant. They are waiting for the water level to drop low enough for them to inspect, then repair the break. A water main break this morning forced the shut off of water service to the entire city of Kenton. Safety Service Director Jim Hites said alarms sounded at the treatment plant around 5 a.m. to indicate a loss of water pressure in the system. The leak was located just east of the plant on Legion Boulevard. Crews were pumping the water out the area of the leak and onto the nearby ball diamond as they waited for the water to reach a level where they could inspect the damage, said Hites. He estimated service would be restored about noon today.
