A Hardin County grand jury indictment was returned Jan. 16 against Sarah Marie Lease, 995 W. Carey St., Kenton. It charges her with involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony; corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; and two counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, one a fourth- and the other a fifth-degree felony. The involuntary manslaughter charge involved the death of Sydney A. Rowe on Oct. 5, 2023. According to the indictment, Rowe’s death was the proximate result of Lease committing or attempting to commit the felony offense of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound Lease, 39, is scheduled for arraignment on the charges before Judge Steve Christopher on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.
