Fundraiser for ‘Angels’ Posted on October 1, 2024 0 Mary Roby, founder of Angels for the Elderly, stands among the variety of donated items that will be available to bidders at the 2024 Quarter Auction Fundraiser and Food Drive. Doors open at noon Saturday, Oct. 5 in the Eagles Community Room, 10750 U.S. 68, Kenton. The auction starts at 1 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee which includes the first bidding paddle. Additional paddles are $2. It is the main fundraiser for the organization, which provides food for area senior citizens. This year’s goal is to raise $8,000 to $10,000. Roby hopes the auction will move more quickly as she will have a list with descriptions of the items. There also will be gift cards and pizza. People are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries for Angels for the Elderly. Times photo/Tim Thomas
