Champion animals sold at fair Posted on September 10, 2018 0 Champion animals sold at the Hardin County Fair were announced Saturday. Makala Grauel’s market lamb brought $1,700 in Saturday’s auction at the Hardin County Fair. The buyers of the grand champion include Shroyer Show Stock/Gentic Solutions, McClaren Farm, Manns Farms, Billenstein Farm + Drainage, Liberty National Bank, Post Show Cattle and Haviland Drainage Products. The reserve champion lamb in the Hardin County Fair belonged to Sidney Gossard and it sold for $1,700. The lamb was purchased by a group which included Guyton Builders, Mary Ann Stair, Lambright Club Lambs, Joyce’s Homemade Caramel Sauce and 302 Carry Out. Sean Kulman earned $700 for his pen of grand champion broilers in Saturday’s auction at the Hardin County Fair. They were purchased by Quest Federal Credit Union, The Kroger Company and Jon Cross for State Representative. Reserve champion for broilers went this year to Keller Stout, whose pen of broilders sold for $1,000 at the Hardin County Fair. The purchasers were HSLC, Quest Federal Credit Union, Thomas Stout, Schwemer, Markley, McKinley and Seely, Jon Cross for State Representative and The Kroger Company. This year’s grand champion turkey fetched a record-setting price of $900 for its owner, Slade Gossman. It was purchased by Heritage Coop, Ada Buyers Club and Findlay Implement. Dakota Gossman brought the reserve champion turkey to the Hardin County Fair this year and took home $850 from Saturday’s auction. It was purchased by HSLC. Dylan Thompson of Upper Scioto Valley FFA sold his champion dairy beef feeder for $1,000. It was purchased by McCullough Industries and Stillwater Metals LLC. Sammie Unger of Kenton FFA sold her reserve champion dairy beef feeder for $1,100. It was purchased by Shaffer’s Auto Body and Paint and Kenton Truck and Equipment. Brian Searson of Lynn Valley Farmers 4-H sold his reserve champion beef steer for $3,500. It was purchased by a group that included Minich Truck Repair, Mennel Milling – Foraker Elevator, LandTech Co., Fred and Nancy Searson, Quest Federal Credit Union, Circle R Corp., Billenstein Farm + Drainage, Findlay Implement Company, County Line Ag Service, Citizens National Bank of Bluffton, NUPCO Tile Co., and Dunson Farms. Kody Buchenroth of Kenton FFA sold his champion dairy beef feeder for $2,500. It was purchased by McCullough Industries and Stillwater Metal LLC. Caitlyn Stover of Ada FFA sold her champion market dairy steer for $1,300. The buyers were Wilson Tire Co., Ralston Farms, Trupointe, Precision Strip Trans., Gerlach Farms, LandTech Co., Wal-Mart Store 5355, Crop Production Services, Heritage Cooperative, Eric and Virginia Riegle, Legacy Farmers Coop Findlay, Findlay Implement Company, Erica Reigle and Dylan Hasson, Circle R Corp, Good Farms – Tony and Cheryl, Becks Superior Hybrids and Quest Federal Credit Union. Trenton Heacock sold his Born and Raised in Hardin County champion hog for $2,800. It was purchased by Jakob’s Electric, Combs Concrete, Burkharts Farm Center, Ada Ser-vices, Wilson Tire Co., Legacy Farmers Co-op – Findlay. Nutrient Ag Solutions, Ag Credit, Allen Tire LTD, Ball Metal Corp., Stewart Seeds/Casper Farms, Hempy Water, Heritage Cooperative, Sparks Farms, Lean Value Sires, PMR Genetics and Hardin Co. Pork Producers. Jillian Hazelton of Ada Barnyard Farmers 4-H Club sold her champion dairy market goat for $800 at Saturday’s Junior Fair Livestock Sale. It was purchased by Ferguson Agency LLC. The reserve champion dairy market goal of Jillian Hazelton was purchased for $400 by HSLC at the livestock sale. Jillian is a member of Ada Barnyard Farmers 4-H Club. The annual milk sale brought in $3,725 which will be shared among the 11 dairy exhibitors at the fair. They included: Callie Cromer, Jonathan Cromer, Allison Harpel, Laney Harpel, Ethan Lawrence, Grace Lawrence, Nathan Matson, Clay Rager, Dillon Rall, Brooke Vansky and Zachary Wedertz. Names of the buyers will be included in the Kenton Times’ post-fair tab.
