Bomb threat closed Honda plant Posted on March 31, 2016 0 MARYSVILLE — A bomb threat written in a restroom at the Honda plant in Marysville closed that facility for about eight hours Wednesday. According to a press release from the Union County Sheriff Malcum J. “Jamie” Patton’s office, Honda security officers contacted his office at 10:41 a.m. to report a message written in English had been found at the plant. Deputies were assisted in response by units from the Allen Township Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department and Marysville Fire Department. Bomb search dogs were called in from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State University Police Department, the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Columbus Fire Department, Ohio Homeland Security, Cleveland State Police Department, Bowling Green State University Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. After an initial investigation, including an extensive search and sweep of certain areas of the plant utilizing bomb-sniffing canines, no suspicious devices were found. “The sheriff’s office and local authorities have determined there is no threat at the Honda facility and at no time was the safety of anyone at Honda an issue,” said Patton. “The sheriff’s office does not believe this threat is connected with any terrorist activity. Due to the serious nature of the threat, a criminal investigation is ongoing.”
