GREYSON WAGONER

BELLEFONTAINE — Greyson Wagoner, a junior at Benjamin Logan High School, has been named one of 81 distinguished students selected for the 2025 Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars program.

This prestigious honor recognizes academically talented young women from the Midwest who will participate in rigorous pre-college academic programs at some of the nation’s most esteemed colleges and universities.

Announced on March 31, the 2025 Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars were chosen from a highly competitive applicant pool across eight Midwestern states—Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The scholars represent 59 different high schools and reflect a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

The Joyce Ivy Foundation reports that 59% of this year’s scholars identify as women of color, and nearly 30% will be the first in their families to attend college. Additionally, 47% qualify for the highest level of need-based scholarships. Among those who attend schools that report GPA or class rank, 83% hold a 4.0 GPA or higher, with 18 ranking first or second in their class.

Greyson will be formally recognized at the Foundation’s 20th annual Summer Scholars Send-Off celebration on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Lathrup Village, Mich. The event will feature keynote remarks by Tina V. John, Executive Legal Counsel and Secretary of Rocket Companies, Inc., the 2025 Joyce Ivy Foundation Leader of the Year. Two Women of Impact award recipients – venture capital executive Alexis Alston and NASA engineer Clare Luckey – will also be honored.
