Young local artists to perform at Lima church Posted on February 10, 2017 0 LIMA — Trinity United Methodist Church, 2016-17 Ronald W. Richards Music Series presents young local artists in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12. They will be performing various pieces that they will be presenting at the solo and ensemble contest. Admission is free. A free will offering will be collected to benefit the Ronald W. Richards Young Musicians Scholarship Fund awarded by the Lima Kiwanis Club, of which Ronald W. Richards was an active member. With the assistance of Clarence Brown and a select committee, music scholarships are awarded to students each year who intend to make teaching music a career following their college graduation. Richards directed the Lima Public Schools Music program from 1957 to 1978 and was in charge of Trinity’s music program from 1957 to the year of his death in 1986.
