Lady Wildcats claim tennis opener 4-1

MANSFIELD — The Kenton High School girls tennis team opened its season with a 4-1 victory over Mansfield St. Peter’s on Tuesday night. “We were really hoping to come out strong tonight to help build our teams confidence. We were able to do that and I was very happy with the shots and matchplay overall,” said Kenton Coach Katie Isenbarger.

Rams outshoot R’dale on the golf course

ARLINGTON — Brady Hipsher carded a 39 and earned medalist honors to lead the Upper Scioto Valley golf team to a 183-212 victory over Riverdale on Tuesday afternoon at Sycamore Springs. Tyler Gratz added a 47 for the Rams, while Dylan Thompson recorded a 48 and Jared Hunt a 49.

Lady Raiders win tri-match

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan girls golf team swept a tri-match from Riverside and North Union on Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders, led by identical 37s from Mailiis Simovart and Sydney Wesson finished with a team score of 174. Riverside ended up with a 199 and North Union a 229.

About 35 Kenton High School soccer alumni came back on Saturday night to play the members of the 2018 Kenton High School soccer team in the annual alumni game. The current group of Wildcats rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit for a 5-3 victory.
