Kenton girls tennis gets past Bluffton 3-2

BLUFFTON — Kenton won the top two singles matches and split the doubles matches to claim a 3-2 win over Bluffton in a non-league girls tennis matchup on Wednesday. At No. 1 singles, the Wildcats’ Mykaela Schriber topped Bluffton’s Erin Hotmire 6-3, 6-2; while in the No, 2 match it was Kelsey Flowers over Olivia Barnes 6-4, 6-0.

Five 2nd half goals push C-R past Ada

RAWSON — Cory-Rawson broke open a tight game with five goals in the second half on the way to a 7-1 win over Ada in a girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association game on Wednesday. Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Ada pulled within a goal on an unassisted tally by Katie Butterfield five minutes into the second half.

L-B shuts out R’dale girls

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Liberty-Benton’s scored all three of its goals in the first half on the way to a 3-0 victory over Riverdale in North Central Ohio Soccer Association girls soccer action on Wednesday night. The Falcons, who fall to 4-2-2 on the season, were outshot 15-3 in the game as keeper Katy Miller recorded 12 saves.

Wirbel leads KHS golfers

LIMA — Shawnee defeated Kenton 176-183 in a Western Buckeye League golf match at Shawnee Country Club on Wednesday afternoon. Ethan Wirbel carded a 44 to lead the Wildcats and finish second overall in the match.

L-B sweeps Riverdale

BENTON RIDGE — Liberty-Benton made quick work of the Riverdale volleyball team on Wednesday night, sweeping the Falcons 25-3, 25-8, 25-5 in a Blanchard Valley Conference matchup. Bry VandenBosch had 3 kills and an ace and Tayler Ashburn added two kills to lead the Falcons.
