Elgin sweeps Gophers

LaRUE — Elgin swept Ridgemont 25-9, 25-9, 25-17 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Thursday. The Gophers were paced by Shaylee McGrath, who had 6 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces and Cassidy Knapp, who had 12 digs and an ace.

Wildcats ready for opener with Coldwater

The Kenton football team will be trying to do something a group of Wildcats hasn’t done in a while when it opens the 2018 season at Robinson field on Friday night – beat Coldwater. The Wildcat program, which returns 15 players that started at some point during last fall’s 5-5 campaign, last won the season-opener against the Cavaliers in 2013.

Ada and USV set for annual for annual gridiron clash

Friday night marks the start of the 2018 high school football season, which means only one thing to two western Hardin County communities: It’s time for the annual Ada-Upper Scioto Valley showdown. While the rivalry may be an old one, on the sidelines will be two coaches with a combined one full season as the head coach of their respective teams.
