BELLEFONTAINE — Despite being first on the scoreboard, the Ben Logan Raiders trailed 24-12 at halftime and were outscored 20-0 in the second half, falling to Northwestern 44-12 in Friday’s Central Buckeye Conference game. The Raiders drop to 2-5 overall, 0-2 in the CBC. The Warriors improve to 5-2, 2-0.
ADA — Facing a 20-0 first quarter deficit, Ada was unable to recover from Crestview’s early offense, falling 53-14 in Friday’s Northwest Conference contest. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 2-5 overall, 1-3 in the NWC. The Knights rise to 6-1, 3-1. A pair of first-quarter touchdown runs by Crestview quarterback Drew Kline put the Bulldogs behind the eight ball early, and Brody Brecht tacked on a third score for the Knights with just under five minutes to go in the quarter.
LIMA — Despite some successes in sectional play on Thursday, the Kenton girls tennis team’s season came to an end as the farthest any of the Wildcats was able to get was the quarterfinal. The top four singles players and doubles players advance to district competition.
The host Kenton girls finished third of seven complete teams with 78 points at the Kyle Althauser Memorial Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Kierra Krohmer led the way for the Lady Wildcats, finishing eighth of 76 runners in a time of 21:20.
BOWLING GREEN — Upper Scioto Valley carded a team score of 379 to finish 14th of 18 teams at the Division III district golf tournament at Stone Ridge Golf Course on Thursday. Brady Hipsher carded an 89 and tied for 45th overall to lead the Rams.
The Kenton boys soccer team remained the only unbeaten team in the Western Buckeye League with a 3-0 win over Elida on Thursday night. The Wildcats improve to 12-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the WBL with matches against Wapakoneta and Bath left next week.
BELLEFONTAINE —The Benjamin Logan volleyball team picked up a 25-13, 25-13, 25-23 win over Springfield Northwestern on senior night Thursday evening. The Raiders improve to 15-5 overall and 7-1 in league play.
ADA — Lincolnview defeated Ada in four games, 25-16, 25-20, 13-25, 25-14 in a Northwest Conference volleyball matchup on Thursday night. Megan Light led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 kills and 2 blocks, while Rilan Conley chipped in with 8 kills, Miranda Wills finished with 6 kills and Raina England had 5 kills.
WAYNESFIELD — Hardin Northern swept Waynesfield-Goshen 25-18, 29-27, 25-10 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Thursday. Alex Jackson had 7 kills and Rylie Bame added 6 spikes to lead the Polar Bear attack. Morgan Pauley chipped in with 5 kills, while Gabby Weaver had 9 assists and Bame added 17 serve receives.
OTTAWA —League-leading Ottawa-Glandorf swept Kenton in three games 25-8, 25-11, 25-12 in a Western Buckeye League volleyball match on Thursday. The Wildcats fall to 3-12 on the season and 0-7 in the WBL. The Titans are now 16-1 and 7-0. Statistics from the match were not received.
