NEW CARLISLE — The Benjmain Logan Raiders fell to the Tecumseh Arrows 18-13 Friday night in a cross-division Central Buckeye Conference football contest.
LIMA — Kenton completed its 15-game regular season with a 5-0 win over Bath on Thursday night to earn the school’s first-ever league title in boys soccer. While Kenton got through a brutal nine-game league schedule with an 8-0-1 record to win the Western Buckeye League, Wildcat coach Jamie Bartlett said the WBL championship was 12-plus years in the making as he watched his players celebrate the historic moment for KHS.
MOUNT BLANCHARD — The shot traveled approximately 60-65 yards, and moments later, Riverdale junior Ryder Egbert’s Riverdale boy’s soccer teammates tackled him to the ground in celebration. It wasn’t the only reason for them to celebrate on this night.
LEWISTOWN — The Ben Logan volleyball team earned its fourth straight Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division championship on Thursday with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-11 sweep of Indian Lake. The Raiders finish the regular season at 17-5 overall and 9-1 in the league.
MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont got past Waynesfield-Goshen 25-15, 18-25, 25-9, 25-23 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball matchup on Thursday night. The Gophers improve to 13-6 on the season and 5-3 in the NWCC.
DOLA — Elgin defeated Hardin Northern in five sets 19-25, 18-25, 25-14, 25-15, 15-11 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Thursday. Rylie Bame had 18 kills, 19 digs, 16 serve receives and 2 solo blocks to lead the Polar Bears.
ADA —Upper Sandusky topped Ada 3-2 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association boys matchup on Thursday. Isaac Spar and Chris Reyes scored Ada’s goals.
The Kenton football team looks to earn its second straight win and clinch a winning season in Western Buckeye League action when it travels to Ottawa-Glandorf to face the Titans on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Kenton (4-3 overall and 4-2 in the WBL) faces a Titan squad that, much like the Wildcats, has been battling the injury bug of late.
Hardin Northern looks to keep its hopes of finishing with a .500 season alive when its hosts Ridgemont in a homecoming game on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Polar Bears, 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in the Northwest Central Conference, will have to win their final three games to finish with an even mark, but go up against a Ridgemont squad that has lost six straight contests by a combined 362-41.
