BL girls golf finishes 7th in state tourney

COLUMBUS — Sydney Wesson has a two-day total of 169 (82-87) to lead the Ben Logan girls golf team to a seventh place finish of 12 teams in the Division II girls state golf tournament in Columbus on Saturday. Mailiis Simovart added a 178 (91-87) , Leeah Valentine shot a 190 (92-98); Willow Titus a 216 (115-101) and Gabrielle Schmidt a 223 (107-116).

OTTAWA — Kenton looked like it was going to set the tone of the game early against Ottawa-Glandorf on Friday night, driving deep inside Titan territory on the first possession of the game after receiving the opening kickoff. Instead its was the Titans that dictated the game as after recovering a Wildcat fumble on their own two yard line, they drove 98 yards in 14 plays to take an early lead.

Polar Bears cruise past Gophers for 55-6 win

DOLA — The Hardin Northern Polar Bears struck early and often while keeping Ridgemont off the board until late in the fourth quarter, defeating the Gophers 55-6 in Friday’s Hardin County matchup. The Northwest Central Conference win improves the Polar Bears’ record to 3-5 overall, 2-3 in the conference. The Gophers drop to 1-7, 0-5 with the loss.
