L-B sweeps Riverdale

BENTON RIDGE — Liberty-Benton made quick work of the Riverdale volleyball team on Wednesday night, sweeping the Falcons 25-3, 25-8, 25-5 in a Blanchard Valley Conference matchup. Bry VandenBosch had 3 kills and an ace and Tayler Ashburn added two kills to lead the Falcons.

Falcons third in tri-match

ARLINGTON — The Riverdale golf team finished third in a tri-match with McComb and Arcadia at Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Wednesday. McComb won the match with a 191, followed by Arcadia with a 195 and Riverdale at 209.

Kenton girls tennis bests Defiance

Host Kenton took two of the three singles matches and split the two doubles matches to defeat Defiance 3-2 in a Western Buckeye League girls tennis match on Tuesday. Winning in singles play for the Wildcats were Mykaela Schriber, who was a 6-1, 6-3 winner over Maria Resenddez, and Kelsey Flowers, who topped Alexa Bickford 6-2, 6-4.

Unger, Newman pace KHS harriers

ELIDA — The Kenton girls were third of six teams and the boys were fifth of 10 teams at the Elida Invitational on Tuesday night. Sammie Unger led the way for the Wildcats in the girls race, finishing fifth of 55 runners in a time of 21:31.

North Union tops BL golf

BELLEFONTAINE — North Union got past Ben Logan 180-186 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys golf match on Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders were led by Ethan Ricketts and Garrett Allen, who both carded 45s.
