Mansfield Christian shuts out Lady Falcons

MANSFIELD — Mansfield Christian netted a pair of second half goals to get past Riverdale 2-0 in a non-league girls soccer match on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons, who kept the game scoreless until the Flames’ Julia Sparks scored just over three minutes into the second half, were outshot 10-9 in the game.

R’dale, Continental play to a 2-2 tie

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Continental tied 2-2 in a non-league boys soccer matchup on Saturday night. Dylan Hunt scored a goal off an assist by Logan Frey for Riverdale’s first tally, while the Falcons got their second goal when the ball went onto the net off a Continental player.

Krohmer leads Kenton harriers at O-G Invite

OTTAWA — Kierra Krohmer was fifth of 112 runners to lead the Kenton girls as the Lady Wildcats finished fourth of 14 teams in the Blue Division of the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue-Gold Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Krohmer finished in a time of 21:02, which was 1:07 slower than the winning time of 19:55 posted by Archbold’s Kylie Sauder.

‘Cats defense stands tall in 15-10 win over Wapakoneta

On a night when Kenton’s offense wasn’t in top form, the Wildcats defense stood tall. Jaron Sharp and Jon Hord recovered two fourth quarter Wapakoneta fumbles and the Kenton offense produced just enough points as the Wildcats pulled out a 15-10 victory over the previously unbeaten Redskins. Kenton improves to 3-1 on the season and 3-1 in the WBL, while Wapakoneta drops to 3-1 and 2-1.

BELLEFONTAINE — Trailing to Jonathan Alder 21-12 at halftime, Benjamin Logan was shutout in the second half, losing at home 28-12 in Friday night’s cross-division Central Buckeye Conference contest. The Raiders fall to 2-2 overall, while the Pioneers improve to 2-2 with the win.
