MANSFIELD — Mansfield Christian netted a pair of second half goals to get past Riverdale 2-0 in a non-league girls soccer match on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons, who kept the game scoreless until the Flames’ Julia Sparks scored just over three minutes into the second half, were outshot 10-9 in the game.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Continental tied 2-2 in a non-league boys soccer matchup on Saturday night. Dylan Hunt scored a goal off an assist by Logan Frey for Riverdale’s first tally, while the Falcons got their second goal when the ball went onto the net off a Continental player.

OTTAWA — Kierra Krohmer was fifth of 112 runners to lead the Kenton girls as the Lady Wildcats finished fourth of 14 teams in the Blue Division of the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue-Gold Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Krohmer finished in a time of 21:02, which was 1:07 slower than the winning time of 19:55 posted by Archbold’s Kylie Sauder.

SPRINGFIELD — The Ben Logan girls golf team was third of 15 teams in the Jill Vaunuch Memorial Tournament Saturday at Reid Park Golf Course. The Raiders, who finished with a team score of 371, were paced by Mailiis Simovart who finished third with a score of 82.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan seventh grade volleyball team swept a pair of matches with Tecumseh and Northridge on Saturday. The Raiders defeated Tecumseh 25-20, 25-6.

In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course the team of Jordan Johnson, Todd Hayter, Randy Comer, Russ Wallace and Vicki Brown lead with a score of 5 under. The team of Brad Hanna, DeWayne Spencer, Jeff Butcher, Tyler Taylor and Joni Rensing are in second place with a 4 under.

On a night when Kenton’s offense wasn’t in top form, the Wildcats defense stood tall. Jaron Sharp and Jon Hord recovered two fourth quarter Wapakoneta fumbles and the Kenton offense produced just enough points as the Wildcats pulled out a 15-10 victory over the previously unbeaten Redskins. Kenton improves to 3-1 on the season and 3-1 in the WBL, while Wapakoneta drops to 3-1 and 2-1.

ADA — Second-string quarterback Phillip Coulson, in for the injured Brandon Hull, scored a combined five touchdowns on the ground and through the air to help lead the bulldogs to a 38-6 win over Delphos Jefferson in Friday’s Northwest Conference contest.

McGUFFEY — After giving up an 85-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, Upper Scioto Valley was facing a 6-point deficit with 2:30 to go in Friday night’s Northwest Central Conference game against Waynesfield-Goshen.

BELLEFONTAINE — Trailing to Jonathan Alder 21-12 at halftime, Benjamin Logan was shutout in the second half, losing at home 28-12 in Friday night’s cross-division Central Buckeye Conference contest. The Raiders fall to 2-2 overall, while the Pioneers improve to 2-2 with the win.
