ADA — Ada and Upper Scioto Valley played on the basketball court for the second time in 16 days on Monday. And the result was the same as the Rams built an insurmountable lead early in cruising to a 72-37 boys basketball victory over the host Bulldogs.
NORTH LEWISBURG — Faith Jenkins had a big night for Ridgemont as the Lady Gophers defeated Triad 60-45 on Monday night. The Gophers received 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals from Jenkins as they improved to 5-8 on the season.
The Kenton Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team defeated Marysville 42-21 on Monday night. Ethan Yoder led the Wildcats with 11 points.
WAPAKONETA — The Kenton Youth Wrestling Team traveled to Wapakoneta on Sunday for a Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association (MVWKA) mini-meet. Ayden Albert, Judah Hudgel, Fisher Ewing, Kole Anspach, Carter Gammon and Isaiah Munday all went 3-0 and took first place at the meet.
MOUNT BLANCHARD — A 9-0 run to end the second quarter gave the Riverdale the lead for good against Ridgemont on Saturday night. And after gaining some more separation in the third quarter, the Falcons were able to hold on to a 68-56 non-conference boys basketball win on Saturday night. The victory propels the Falcons to 8-5 on the season, while the Gophers drop to 4-8.
The Kenton girls got off to a strong start against Napoleon on Saturday leading by nine points with a minute left in the first quarter. Unfortunately for the host Wildcats they could not sustain their effort into the second half as Napoleon came storming back, taking a one-point lead by halftime before outscoring Kenton 34-10 in the second 16 minutes on the way to a 59-34 non-conference victory.
ADA — McComb outscored Ada 33-2 in the second half, including 23-0 in the third quarter, to pull away for a 58-18 victory over the Bulldogs in a non-league girls basketball contest Saturday afternoon. Ada, which falls to 1-13 on the season, trailed 13-4 after eight minutes and 25-16 at halftime before being limited to just one field goal by Kirsten Poling in the second half.
FINDLAY — Jaron Sharp had 32 points and Jayden Cornell added 20 as Kenton pulled away for a 70-50 victory over Liberty-Benton in boys basketball action on Friday night. Kenton, which led 16-8 after eight minutes and 28-21 at halftime, extended it lead to 42-22 after three quarters before outscoring the hosts 28-17 in the final stanza.
