‘Cats look to rebound against Van Wert

Kenton looks to rebound from a difficult setback last week when it hosts Van Wert in a homecoming game at Robinson Field on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Last week the Wildcats led in the second quarter and only trailed by a touchdown at halftime before the game got away from them in the second half in a 70-29 setback to league-leading St. Marys, which is the No. 1 ranked Division IV team in Ohio.

Raiders tie Tecumseh

NEW CARLISLE — Ben Logan rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 3-3 tie with Tecumseh in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer matchup on Wednesday. George Kern, Rylan Studebaker and Gavin Gibson had goals for the Raiders, who move to 6-4-3.

BL girls 2nd at sectional

BRADFORD — Sydney Wesson carded an 87 and Mailiis Simovart fired a 91 to lead the Ben Logan to a second place finish in the sectional golf tournament at Stillwater Valley Golf Course on Wednesday. Also for Ben Logan, Leeah Valentine carded a 120 and Gabrielle Schmidt had a 129. The Raiders finished with a team total of 395.

Wildcats topple Shawnee to take control of WBL race

LIMA — Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Kenton’s hopes of claiming the school’s first Western Buckeye League soccer title looked to be in jeopardy. Forty minutes and two goals later, the Wildcats are right back where they want to be - in control of their own destiny – as a 2-1 win over the Indians left Kenton as the only team in the WBL without a loss.

Shawnee sweeps KHS tennis

LIMA — Shawnee swept Kenton 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League girls tennis matchup on Thursday night. The match was scheduled to be played at Kenton High School but was moved indoors to the Westwood Tennis Center in Lima due to rain.
