KMS 8th grade boys win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Kenton eighth grade boys basketball team defeated Riverdale 48-36. Colby Quay led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Tyson Lawrence chipped in with 11 points and Kooper Johnston had 9 points. Camden Hicks added 4 points.

Lady Gophers top C-R for second victory

RAWSON — Faith Jenkins had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead Ridegmont to a 54-47 win over Cory-Rawson in a non-league girls basketball win on Monday night. Leading 34-33 after three quarters, the Gophers pulled away with a 20-14 advantage over the final eight minutes.

Ada girls fall to Van Buren

ADA — Van Buren outscored Ada in all four quarters on the way to a 65-26 victory in a non-league girls basketball contest on Monday night. The visiting Knights jumped ahead 17-5 after eight minutes and 32-7 by halftime before outscoring Ada 21-9 in the third quarter.

Shawnee outshoots Rams

LIMA — Shawnee outscored Upper Scioto Valley 32-18 in the third quarter to break open a tight game on the way to an 84-70 victory over the Rams in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday night. The host Indians (4-1) led 21-17 after eight minutes and 35-29 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter.

Sharp sets scoring mark in ‘Cats win

Saturday night at the Kenton High School gymnasium belonged to Jaron Sharp. The Kenton High School senior not only reached 1,000 points for his prep career with his 16th point of the game, but he also set a school record for points in a game with 47 as the Wildcats smashed Riverdale 89-52 in the battle of area rivals.
