R’mont wins 1st Keegan McKee Memorial tourney

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont avenged a loss to Kenton earlier in the day and defeated the Wildcats in a rematch 16-25, 27-25, 25-17 to claim the championship of the first Keegan McKee Memorial Tournament. The Gophers, who topped Upper Scioto Valley 25-15, 25-9 in their opening round match before falling to the Wildcats 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 in the their second match of the day, improve to 10-6 on the season.

Sharp leads way as ‘Cats hold off Shawnee

LIMA — If Kenton quarterback Jaron Sharp still had any lingering effects of an injury suffered against St. Marys two weeks ago, he didn’t show them on Friday night. The senior was the star of the show on both sides of the ball, throwing for 208 yards with a pair of touchdown passes and running for another 175 yards and a pair of scores offensively, while intercepting two passes defensively to help the Wildcats hold off Shawnee 38-35 in the Western Buckeye League contest.

Riverdale outlasts N. Baltimore

NORTH BALTIMORE — After taking a 21-6 first quarter lead, Riverdale battled with North Baltimore in a shootout in the second quarter, taking the halftime lead 56-36. The Falcons managed to hold off the Tigers in the second half, outscoring them 21-6 through the final two quarters to earn the 77-42 win Friday night.
