FINDLAY — The Ashland Crestview girls soccer team has only allowed 17 goals all season, although seven of the 17 came in one game, a loss to Lexington. On Wednesday, the Riverdale girls soccer team found out just how difficult it can be to try to score a goal against Crestview.

The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton started their final push to the end of the bass fishing season recently by returning to the productive waters of Lake Erie and the bays and harbors connected to it. Launching on Sandusky Bay using the Dempsey access were 13 anglers each competing for nine hours to bring in the five heaviest bass they could catch.

The Kenton football team kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a win over Elida last Friday. And while the playoffs are still a possibility when the Wildcats travel to Bath on Friday night, Kenton's players enter the contest with one goal in mind, according to coach Brent Fackler.

ELIDA — After taking a two-goal lead over Bath with less than 10 minutes having ticked off the clock, it looked as though the Kenton Lady Wildcats were set to cruise past the opponent that got the better of them to the tune of 4-1 just two weeks prior.

NEW CARLISLE — The Benjamin Logan volleyball team ended its season with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 loss to Kenton Ridge in a district semi-final match at Tecumseh High School Tuesday evening. The Raiders finish with an 18-6 record.

In Monday Fall League play at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of David Bettinger, Chris Rogers, Cole Weyant, Rick Brown and Tami McFadden is in first place with a 36-under. In second place is the team of Jordan Johnson Todd Hayter Randy Comer Russ Wallace and Vicki Brown with a 32-under.

ELIDA — With the goal to put balls in the back of Celina’s net early, Kenton certainly made the effort with five shots on goal in the first half. But just one of those shots found its way in for the Wildcats to post a 1-0 halftime lead in Monday’s Division II district semifinal match.

FINDLAY — The Ada Bulldogs volleyball team saw its season come to an end in Monday night’s district semifinal, falling to Arlington in four sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22.

OTTAWA — The Kenton High School girls cross country team qualified for regionals, finishing fourth of 11 teams at the Ottawa Division II district on Saturday. The top four teams and individuals in the top 16 qualified for Saturday’s regional cross country meet in Tiffin.

VAN BUREN — After suffering a 1-0 loss on the road to Van Buren just over two weeks ago, the Riverdale Falcons were looking to flip the score in their favor in Saturday’s Division III sectional final between the two Blanchard Valley Conference teams.
