In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of David Bettinger, Chris Rogers, Cole Weyant, Rick Brown and Tami McFadden finished the league in first place with a 45 under. The second place team was Brad Hanna, DeWayne Spencer, Jeff Butcher, Tom Taylor and Joni Rensing at 41 under; while the team of Jordan Johnson, Todd Hayter, Randy Comer, Russ Wallace and Vicki Brown was third with a 40 under.

The Kenton Middle School boys soccer team recently completed an unbeaten season with an 11-0 record. The young Wildcats beat a previously unbeaten Shawnee team 1-0 in their final game.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced on Thursday afternoon that the Kenton High School boys soccer Division II regional championship game against Bay Village Bay will be held at noon Saturday at Sandusky Perkins High School, 3714 Campbell St., Sandusky.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Athletic Association has postponed Saturday’s state cross country tournament to Saturday, Nov. 10, due to flooding conditions on the course at National Trail Raceway in Hebron. Riverdale’s Kendra Collier and Ben Logan’s Dani Widmark are slated to compete in the tournament.

FINDLAY — If there were any jitters for the members of the Kenton boys soccer team about playing in the school’s first ever regional tournament contest, the Wildcats did not show them on Wednesday night. The Wildcats dominated Toledo Central Catholic from start to finish, never letting the Irish get into any offensive flow, on the way to a 4-0 win.

The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton Ohio made their last regular season trip to Lake Erie recently for a good day of tight competition as 13 members competed during the 9-hour day. First place through ninth place were separated by just over 1.5 pounds as the top angler with his first victory as a Bassmaster was Nathan Plaugher of LaFayette.

The Hardin County Family YMCA will offer a variety of basketball programs to area youth this winter. The Mini-Hoopers program is available to girls/boys age 5 to the 2nd grade.

BELLEFTONTAINE — Entering the 2018 cross country season, Ben Logan freshman Dani Widmark and her coach Mike Coder knew the Raiders’ top runner would have a chance to have a successful season and possibly even the opportunity to compete in the state meet if everything worked out just right.

Hardin Northern coach Mike Dennis was voted the Northwest Central Conference football coach of the year and several area players were named to the league’s first and second team on the all-league team released earlier this week. Dennis, who has been battling adrenal cancer, was selected by his peers as the league’s top coach this season after guiding the Polar Bears through a 4-6 season that included a come-from-behind win over Riverside.
