Tough day for Ben Logan’s Widmark in DII state meet HEBRON — Ben Logan freshman Dani Widmark finished 103rd of 177 runners in the Division II Ohio cross country meet on Saturday afternoon. Kenton senior Bartlett named boys Division II NWOSSCA Player of the Year Kenton Wildcat senior Landon Bartlett has been named the boys Division II Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year. Riverdale’s Collier ready to compete at state X-country meet COLUMBUS — Riverdale senior Kendra Collier isn’t nervous to run at the state meet Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron. Bassmasters finish regular season The last regular club tournament of the season for the Trophy Bassmasters was held recently on their home waters of Indian Lake. The catch rates were low as only 20 bass of at least 12 inches were brought to the scales by the nine anglers after the nine-hour day. Total weight was a meager 26.55 pounds. Read More
Bay Village ends Wildcats’ season SANDUSKY — The Kenton soccer team kept the game on an even pitch early in its Division II regional championship game against Bay Village on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats could not net an early goal though and after Bay’s Cade Gergye powered past the Kenton defense and sent the ball past Wildcat keeper Luke Woodruff nine minutes into the game, the field was tilted toward the Rockets over the final 70 minutes as they cruised to a 3-0 victory at Sandusky Perkins High School.
