Lady Raiders pull away from Kenton

Ben Logan used strong second and fourth quarters to pull away for a 58-48 victory over Kenton in a non-league girls basketball game on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders, who improved to 2-1 on the season, trailed 18-17 with five minutes left in the second quarter before closing the first half with a 9-2 run to take a six-point lead into the intermission.

Wildcat boys run past Waynesfield-Goshen

Kenton controlled the game from start to finish on the way to a 90-39 victory over Waynesfield-Goshen on Saturday night. The Wildcats, who connected on 12 three-pointers for the second game in a row to start the season, jumped ahead 23-10 after one quarter and 42-26 at halftime before putting the game away with a 27-7 advantage in the third quarter.

Gophers topple Madison Plains, improve to 2-0

MOUNT VICTORY — Landon Newland tallied 29 points as Ridgemont won its second straight game to start the boys basketball season, pulling away for a 68-55 victory over Madison Plains on Saturday. Grant Reppart added 11 for the Gophers, who led 23-11 after eight minutes and 36-19 at halftime.

Fort Jennings takes care of Ada, 50-39

FORT JENNINGS — Trailing Fort Jennings 13-7 after the first quarter, the Ada Bulldogs were unable to recover from the slow start and fell 50-39 in Saturday’s non-league boys basketball contest. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-2, while Fort Jennings records its first win at 1-1.
