NEW CARLISLE — Tecumseh got off to a 15-point lead after one quarter and built on its lead from there in amassing a 102-32 girls basketball victory over Ben Logan on Wednesday night. The Raiders, who were outscored 60-9 over the middle two quarters, fall to 2-2 on the season.

BELLEFONTAINE — Bellefontaine defeated Ben Logan 2,622-2,435 in a Central Buckeye Conference bowling match on Wednesday night. Sophomore Timmy Porter led the Raiders with two games of 192 for a 384 series.

RIDGEWAY — The Ridgemont eighth grade boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Vanlue 46-28 on Wednesday night. Weston McKinley netted 17 points to lead the Gophers, while Jeb McGue chipped in with 10 points and JD Haimerl and Wade Gamble added 8 points each.

COLUMBUS – Because being able to get around in the community is critical for older Ohioans to remain independent and healthy, the Ohio Department of Aging and the Ohio Department of Transportation are partnering to increase awareness of available resources for older drivers during Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, Dec. 3-7.

ADA — Ugly and not pretty. Those were the words Hardin Northern girls basketball coach Brady Mast used to describe his team’s 34-22 victory over Ada on Tuesday night. The Polar Bear mentor will take wins any way they come though after losing his top scorer, Ashton Dye, for the season for a second year in a row due to an injury suffered in the preseason.

BELLEFONTAINE — Since she started swimming at age seven, Macy Arn has had a dream of swimming at the Division I collegiate level. That dream will become a reality next winter for the Ben Logan senior.

Kenton and Van Wert split a swim dual meet at the Hardin County YMCA on Tuesday night, with the Wildcats winning the boys meet 83-62 and Van Wert winning the girls meet 92-57.

The Annual Elks Hoops Shoot will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Kenton High School gymnasium. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley could not keep pace with Delphos St. Johns in the second half as the Blue Jays pulled away for a 60-51 victory in a non-league boys basketball game on Tuesday night. The game was tied 12-12 after eight minutes and Delphos St. Johns led 25-24 at halftime before outscoring USV 17-11 in the third eight minutes to grab a 42-35 lead going into the final stanza.

MOUNT VICTORY — While Ridgemont coach Nick Stuck knows that his youthful team has a lot of potential for success, the Gopher mentor also realizes there will be some growing pains and learning experiences along the way.
