MOUNT BLANCHARD — A 23-6 second quarter in favor of Riverdale turned a close contest into a runaway by halftime, allowing the Falcons to cruise in the second half to an 82-31 boys basketball win over Hardin Northern on Saturday.

After a rough outing on Thursday against Defiance, the Kenton girls basketball team got back on track on Saturday as the Wildcats outscored Ada in all four quarters on the way to a 69-20 victory over the visiting Bulldogs. The Wildcats, who led 18-6 eight minutes into the game and 37-11 by halftime, limited the Bulldogs to six points or less in all four quarters as they improved to 2-7 on the season.

SYCAMORE — Unbeaten Mohawk got off to a fast start, building a 25-point halftime lead before coasting through the second half on the way to an 84-55 victory over Ridgemont in a non-league boys basketball game Saturday night. The hosts jumped ahead 23-9 after eight minutes and 46-21 at halftime before outscoring the Gophers 38-34 in the second half.

DELPHOS — The Kenton boys basketball team rebounded from a disappointing effort against Defiance on Friday night with a 56-45 victory over Delphos Jefferson on Saturday night. Kenton led 9-8 after one quarter and 24-19 at halftime.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan overcame a slow start against Upper Scioto Valley to rally over the final three quarters for a 49-48 win over the Rams in a non-league boys basketball game Saturday night. Behind 15 first-half points from Quinn Sanders, the Rams jumped out to a 14-6 lead after eight minutes and a 31-20 lead at halftime before the Raiders rallied in the second half outscoring USV 10-7 in the third quarter and 19-10 in the final stanza.

NEW KNOXVILLE — A slow second quarter was too much for Ada to overcome as the Bulldogs fell to New Knoxville 47-44 in a non-league boys basketball game Saturday night. The Bulldogs, who fall to 2-9 on the season, led 15-12 after eight minutes before being outscored 17-9 by the host Rangers in the second quarter.

VAN WERT — Van Wert defeated Kenton in a Western Buckeye League bowling match on Saturday. The Cougars won the boys match 2,673-2,478.

CLYDE — Kenton tied for 13th with 67.5 points out of 21 teams at the Jacob Andrews Memorial Middle School Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. Anthony Hunt placed second at 92 pounds with a 4-1 record.

DOLA — Arlington made quick work of Hardin Northern on Saturday, jumping out to a 40-point lead by halftime on the way to an 81-20 win over the Polar Bears in a non-league girls basketball contest. The Red Devils led 25-4 after eight minutes and 49-9 by halftime before outscoring the Polar Bears 32-11 in the second half.
