Leipsic outshoots Lady Falcons, 43-25

LEIPSIC — Leipsic outscored Riverdale in all four quarters on the way to a 43-25 Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball victory on Thursday night. The host Vikings led 11-5 after one quarter and 20-9 at halftime before outscoring the Falcons 23-16 in the second half.

USV falls to Lehman Catholic

McGUFFEY — Lehman Catholic built a big early lead and then shutout Upper Scioto Valley 14-0 in the third quarter on the way to a 51-27 victory over the Rams in a Northwest Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. The visitors led 14-4 after eight minutes and 26-13 at halftime before putting the game away in the third eight minutes.

Wildcats to face Wapak, Ridgemont hosts Polar Bears

The Kenton boys basketball team goes after its first Western Buckeye League win when the Wildcats travel to Wapakoneta on Friday night. The Wildcats (7-2 on the season) have struggled in WBL play, dropping both of their league contests, including a 72-54 setback to Defiance last Friday. In that game, Jaron Sharp led Kenton with 17 points, while Jayden Cornell had 16 points.

BL bowlers drop close match

ST. PARIS — Graham nipped Ben Logan 2,522-2,521 in a battle of the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division bowling leaders on Wednesday night. Devon Snider had games of 183 and 203 for a 386 series to lead the Raiders.

ONU men suffer road loss to Baldwin-Wallace

BEREA — Despite a 32-point effort from Ryan Bruns and the first career double-double by Daniel Donner, the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team lost to Baldwin Wallace 90-75 Wednesday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest. The Polar Bears fall to 4-10 overall and are 0-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow jackets are 10-4, 4-3.

Lady Gophers come up big in 2nd half of win

GALION — Ridgemont overcame a slow start to pull way in the second half for a 58-42 victory over North Union in a non-league girls basketball game on Tuesday night. The Gophers trailed 17-12 after one quarter and 28-18 at halftime before outscoring the hosts 24-8 in the third quarter and 16-6 in the final eight minutes.
