St. Marys defeated Kenton 52-24 in a Western Buckeye League wrestling dual meet on Thursday night. Despite the team loss, three Wildcat wrestlers – Mason Rhoades, Brian Blankenship and Noah Eikenbary – remained unbeaten in WBL action.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — McComb outscored Riverdale in each of the final three quarters, including 11-2 over the final eight minutes, on the way to a 48-25 victory over the Lady Falcons in a Blanchard Valley Conference game on Thursday night. The game was tied 11-11 after eight minutes and McComb led 26-24 at halftime and 37-33 after three quarters before pulling away in the fourth stanza.

ST. MARYS — The Kenton girls basketball team came up short on Thursday night, falling to St. Marys 41-36 in a Western Buckeye League contest. After falling behind 10-6 after one quarter, the host Roughriders took control in the middle two quarters, outscoring the Wildcats 14-8 in the second eight minutes and 11-8 in the third stanza.

SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic built a large lead in the first half on the way to a 38-25 victory over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. The visiting Cavaliers led 15-5 after eight minutes and 26-9 at halftime before being outscored by the Polar Bears 16-12 in the second half, including 9-1 in the fourth quarter.

ADA — Crestview outscored Ada in all four quarters on the way to a 51-17 Northwest Conference girls basketball game on Thursday night. The visitors built a 15-2 advantage after one quarter and a 30-4 lead by halftime in cruising to the victory.

The Kenton boys and girls bowling teams dropped a Western Buckeye League match to St. Marys on Thursday night. The Roughriders won the girls match 2,483-2,140.

Kenton High School will be participating in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s statewide military appreciation night during the Wildcats home basketball game against St. Marys tonight. Amy man or woman who has served or who is currently serving in any of the U.S. military branches will receive free admission to the game with proof of military ID.

The Kenton Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team fell to Celina 26-24 on Thursday night. Brynn Butler led the Wildcats with 13 points.

BELLEFONTAINE —After a low-scoring first half, Ben Logan found its offense in the third quarter on the way to a 43-20 victory over Bellefontaine in a non-league girls basketball game on Wednesday night. Leading 15-8 at halftime, the host Raiders outscored Bellefontaine 20-7 in the third eight minutes to take control of the game.

The Kenton boys basketball team returns home on Friday to host St. Marys as the Wildcats try to get into the win column in Western Buckeye League play. The Wildcats, 8-3 at the mid-point of the season and 0-3 in the WBL, split a pair of games last weekend, falling to Wapakoneta 49-44 on Friday before coming back with a 70-50 victory over Liberty-Benton on Saturday.
