Lady Raiders come up short at London

LONDON —Trailing by four points after eight minutes, London took control in the second quarter on the way to a 42-34 victory over Ben Logan in a Central Buckeye League cross-divisional girls basketball contest on Wednesday night. The host Red Raiders trailed 12-8 eight minutes into the game before outscoring Ben Logan 15-10 in the second quarter and 13-8 in the third quarter.

KHS boys bowling team gets WBL win over Elida

LIMA — The Kenton boys bowling team defeated Elida 2,122-2,115 in a Western Buckeye League match on Tuesday night. Andrew Steele led the Wildcats with a 335 series, followed by Joseph Hastings with a 334 series, Collin Morris with a 294 series, Carter Kauble with a 276 series and Jaret Dyer with a 258 series.

Quakers push past Polar Bears, 78-60

ADA — Wilmington pulled away late in the first half on the way to a 78-60 win over Ohio Northern in Ohio Athletic Conference men’s basketball action on Wednesday night. ONU, which was paced by Ryan Bruns’ 14 points and 10- rebounds, trailed 31-30 with two minutes left in the first half before the Quakers went on an 8-0 run to end the first half and then netted the first six points of the second half.

DOLA — Maddie Grappy had 21 points and Quinn Stewart Evans added 12 as Hardin Northern pulled away in the second half for a 48-35 victory over Mansfield Temple Christian in non-league girls basketball action on Tuesday night. The Polar Bears trailed 13-12 after eight minutes and the score was tied 17-17 with a minute left in the first half before Grappy had a pair of baskets off steals to give Hardin Northern a 21-17 lead at halftime.

Liberty-Benton breezes by Lady Wildcats, 76-19

FINDLAY — Host Liberty-Benton jumped on top early and was never challenged on the way to a 76-19 victory over Kenton in non-league girls basketball action on Tuesday night. The Eagles, ranked No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Ohio Division III poll, led 23-5 after eight minutes and 43-9 by halftime.

Kenton Ridge pushes past Ben Logan, 53-41

SPRINGFIELD — Kenton Ridge outscored Ben Logan in all four quarters on the way to a 53-41 boys basketball victory in a non-league Central Buckeye conference cross-divisional matchup on Tuesday night. The host Cougars led 15-13 after eight minutes, expanding their lead to 27-20 by halftime and 37-29 after three quarters.

Lady Raiders cruise to victory over North Union

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan got off to a fast start on the way to a 66-44 victory over North Union in a Central Buckeye Conference girls basketball game on Monday night. The Raiders, who received a game-high 29 points with five three-pointers from Savannah Pavoni, jumped ahead 20-4 after eight minutes and 33-11 by halftime before cruising through the second half.
