Ada rally falls short vs. Carey

CAREY — Snapping a seven-game losing streak isn’t easy, and neither was Carey’s Division IV softball sectional final against Ada on Thursday. In an ugly game with 10 combined errors, the Blue Devils produced an eight-run second inning and held on for dear life in a 9-7 victory.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Led by Carlee Marshall’s third-place effort in the long jump, the Ada girls are in second place with 14 points after the first day of the Northwest Conference track meet on Thursday.

McComb blanks Ada in sectional final

McCOMB — There are a number of things Ada fans could point to that went wrong Wednesday in the Bulldogs’ Division IV sectional final baseball loss. The Bulldogs were held to two hits and did not score a run. McComb scored eight runs with two outs. Of the eight walks and one hit batsman issued by Ada pitchers, seven scored.
