Ada’s Wilcox moves on to districts in four events

LIMA — Ada’s Mitchell Wilcox was battling a sore shoulder when he took to the pool for Division II sectional swim competition at the Lima YMCA on Saturday. It didn’t stop the Bulldogs’ standout from getting one step closer to making an appearance in the state swim meet for the third straight year.

Kenton gets first WBL win in last two seasons, tops Bath by 14

Kenton and Lima Bath were both seeking their first Western Buckeye League victory of the season when the two teams squared off in the KHS gymnasium on Friday night. In the end it was the host Wildcats, led by the inside-outside duo of Austin Phillips and Colyn Blackford, that proved to be too much for Bath, combining for 44 points to lead Kenton to a 71-57 victory.

USV falls short at buzzer in overtime

McGUFFEY — A missed last-second 3-pointer from Upper Scioto Valley’s Lane Hurley was all that came between the Rams and a shot at double overtime against Perry for the Northwest Central Conference championship.
