BELLEFONTAINE — Springfield Shawnee made quick work of the Ben Logan boys on Tuesday, jumping ahead by 28 points by halftime in cruising to a 78-37 victory in a Central Buckeye Conference cross divisional basketball contest.

Bluffton drops KHS in fourth quarter

BLUFFTON — Bluffton was able to get to the free-throw line in the fourth quarter as the host Pirates broke a fourth quarter tie to pull away for a 43-37 victory over Kenton in a non-league boys basketball contest on Tuesday night.

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont took control by outscoring Jefferson Township 21-1 in the third quarter on its way to a 65-37 victory Saturday afternoon.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan girls bowling team split a match with Calvary Christian and Springfield Northwestern on Tuesday. The Raiders defeated Calvary Christian 1974-1589, while losing to the Warriors 2272-1589. Leading scorers for the Raiders were Karlee Gilliam with a 327 series, Jenna Peyton a 322 series and MaKayla Coyot a 264 series.

Riverdale grad named HCAC athlete of week

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Sarah Hunter, a Riverdale graduate, posted one of the top 800-meter times in the nation at the Findlay Track and Field Classic and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
