BELLEFONTAINE — Of all the teams who advanced three or more wrestlers to the placing rounds Saturday at the Raider Invitational, Riverdale tied for the second-best record in those placing matches.

For much of the first 16 minutes, it looked like the Kenton basketball team was going to pull away for an easy victory over Ada during the battle of Hardin County rivals on Saturday night.

MARION — Kenton freshman C.J. Cook Jr. was the best 160-pound wrestler at the Sally George Invitational held at Marion Pleasant High School this weekend.

DEFIANCE — Led by several record-setting performances, the Kenton High School girls swim team had its best finish ever in the Western Buckeye League swim meet, finishing fourth at the Defiance YMCA on Saturday.

ST. PARIS — Ben Logan outscored Graham in each of the last three quarters to pull away for a 51-30 victory in a CBC Mad River Division girls basketball contest on Saturday.

BASCOM — Riverdale took charge early building a 30-point lead by halftime before cruising through the second half for a 66-26 victory over Hopewell-Loudon in Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball action on Saturday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — After a strong start on Saturday night, the Riverdale boys basketball team was unable to hold on as Mansfield Temple Christian rallied in the second half for a 76-66 victory over the host Falcons.

McGUFFEY — Behind a 27-point effort from Cameron Parker, Upper Scioto Valley took control against North Baltimore in the first half on the way to a 58-42 victory in a non-league boys basketball game Saturday night.

DOLA — Allen East outscored Hardin Northern by 19 points in the second quarter to break open a close game on the way to a 70-44 victory over the Polar Bears in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday.
