BELLEFONTAINE — Ten errors were costly for the Ben Logan softball team as the Lady Raiders fell to Springfield Northwestern in a Central Buckeye Conference game on Monday afternoon.

Van Buren defeats Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren scored two runs in the top of the first Monday and cruised from there to a 13-1 five-inning Blanchard Valley Conference baseball victory over Riverdale.

Kenton topped by Celina, 12-5

Slowing the steal

Celina scored five runs in the third inning and added seven more in the sixth on the way to a 12-5 victory over Kenton in a Western Buckeye League baseball game on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fall to 10-8 on the season and 1-7 in WBL play.

MORRAL — The Riverdale baseball team split a twinbill with Ridgedale on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 in the first game before rebounding to win game two 5-1. Leading 2-1 going into the top of the seventh of game two, the Falcons scored three runs to put the contest out of reach.

Raider boys 3rd, girls 6th at home invite

BELLEFONTAINE — Wapakoneta won the boys and girls portions of the Raider Invitational track and field meet, hosted by Ben Logan on Friday night. The Redskins won the boys meet with 147 points. Bellefontaine was second with 129 points and the host Raiders placed third with 96 points.

Kenton tennis wins, 4-1

The Kenton tennis team won all three singles matches on the way to a 4-1 victory over Bellefontaine on Saturday afternoon. Winning for the Wildcats were Jake Abbott, who defeated Tyler Frantz 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles

Dalton Kessler provided the clutch hit when Kenton needed it on Friday and the result was the Wildcats’ first Western Buckeye League victory of the season as they defeated Elida 3-1.
