ST. PARIS — A trio of Ben Logan athletes qualified for next week’s regional track meet in Dayton on the first day of Division II district competition at Graham High School on Thursday afternoon.

DEFIANCE — While no one qualified for the regional track meet, the Kenton girls did place in several events on the first day of the Division II district track and field meet at Defiance High School on Wednesday. The Wildcats top placement came in the girls discus as sisters Lauren and Caitlin Johnson were both top eight placers.

BELLEFONTAINE — What the Ben Logan baseball team has accomplished this season has been remarkable. The Raiders are 25-0 against Ohio teams and 26-2 overall. Ben Logan went 16-0 in Central Buckeye Conference play.

Ada had several athletes chosen to the All-Northwest Conference baseball and softball teams released on Wednesday. Bulldog shortstop Brayden Sautter was selected first team in baseball, while pitcher and infielder Seth Evans received honorable mention.

The first farm Dodgers defeated the Reds 18-5 in Kenton Little League action on Wednesday afternoon. Hitters for the Reds were Anthony Hunt with a home run, a double and a single;

It was an all-too-familiar story for Hardin Northern softball Tuesday night in a Division IV district semifinal. A poor start and errors cost the Polar Bears in a 5-0 season-ending loss to Arlington.

LIMA — The Kenton softball team couldn’t come up with the clutch hit early in its Division III district game against Sherwood Fairview on Tuesday afternoon. And in the end it proved costly as the Apaches got several big hits on the way to an 8-0 victory at Lima Bath High School.

For the first time in more than 40 years, Kenton will have two singles players competing at the boys tennis district tournament.

The Major League Braves defeated the Reds Tuesday 25-15.
