MORRAL — The Riverdale baseball team split a twinbill with Ridgedale on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 in the first game before rebounding to win game two 5-1. Leading 2-1 going into the top of the seventh of game two, the Falcons scored three runs to put the contest out of reach.

Raider boys 3rd, girls 6th at home invite

BELLEFONTAINE — Wapakoneta won the boys and girls portions of the Raider Invitational track and field meet, hosted by Ben Logan on Friday night. The Redskins won the boys meet with 147 points. Bellefontaine was second with 129 points and the host Raiders placed third with 96 points.

Kenton tennis wins, 4-1

The Kenton tennis team won all three singles matches on the way to a 4-1 victory over Bellefontaine on Saturday afternoon. Winning for the Wildcats were Jake Abbott, who defeated Tyler Frantz 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles

Dalton Kessler provided the clutch hit when Kenton needed it on Friday and the result was the Wildcats’ first Western Buckeye League victory of the season as they defeated Elida 3-1.

Holbrook to continue track career at Tiffin University

A new Dragon

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Brittany Holbrook has made her mark on the track as a member of the Ram track team over the past four years. The senior will take her talents to the collegiate level next year as she signed a letter of intent on Thursday to continue her athletic career and education at the University of Tiffin as a Dragon.
