The Northwest Central Conference recently announced its scholar-athletes for the 2014-15 school year. To become a scholar-athlete in the NWCC, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average and participate in at least one varsity sport.

FOSTORIA — The Riverdale Black 12u softball team scored seven runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to pull away for a 23-7 victory over Fostoria on Monday.

ROUNDHEAD — Travis Compton loves to run. The 2014 Upper Scioto Valley graduate is trying to spread that love to others as he recently started the ‘Never Stop Running’ club in Roundhead.

ADA — For 11-year-old Cami Hazelton gymnastics started as something fun to do in her house. Now it’s become something more. Cami, the daughter of Travis and Rebecca Hazelton of Ada, won her second straight gymnastics state title during the spring.

The Kenton Galaxy finished up the spring soccer season at 8-1-1 and were U14/15 division 1 champs. The team recorded five shutouts and outscored the opponents 32-6 during the season.
