Area athletes honored for good grades

The Northwest Central Conference recently announced its scholar-athletes for the 2014-15 school year. To become a scholar-athlete in the NWCC, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average and participate in at least one varsity sport.

Tournament champs

The Kenton Wildcat 12U baseball club won the Best of the Northwest Tournament. Kenton went 6-0 during the weekend event, defeating Van Wert 3-2 in the championship game.

Volleyball camp

The Ada girls volleyball program help a camp for girls in grades fourth through sixth last week. The camp was conducted by elementary coaches Lori Poling and Jen Sumner.

Undefeated champions

The HCFY Killer Koalas went undefeated during the u8 Black Swamp soccer season, winning all eight games they played. The team also won the Riverdale Soccer Tournament. The Killer Koalas outscored their opponents 91-29 during the season.

Spring champions

Spring champions

The Kenton Galaxy finished up the spring soccer season at 8-1-1 and were U14/15 division 1 champs. The team recorded five shutouts and outscored the opponents 32-6 during the season.
