Kenton takes advantage of miscues, beats Hardin Northern

It seemed as if every time Hardin Northern made a mistake Thursday afternoon, Kenton took advantage of it. The Wildcats (11-8) drew three walks and all those runners scored. The Polar Bears also committed four errors that led to five unearned Kenton runs as the Wildcats earned an 8-6 nonconference softball victory.

ADA — A pair of big innings powered the Kenton baseball team past Ada 12-4 in nonconference action Wednesday. The Wildcats scored five runs in the second inning and four in the fifth.

McGUFFEY — Maddie Lowery and Bree Mullins homered and had two RBIs each as the Upper Scioto Valley softball team defeated Perry 10-5 in a Northwest Central Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

LIMA — Hardin Northern put Lima Central Catholic away with a 10-run fifth inning on the way to a 16-0 victory in a non-league softball game on Wednesday afternoon.

Kenton tennis sweeps Fostoria

FOSTORIA — The Kenton tennis team won its 11th match of the season on Wednesday, blanking Fostoria 5-0 in a non-league matchup. Winning at singles for the Wildcats was Jake Abbott, who was a 6-0, 6-0 victor over Noah Kitchen at first singles and Kyle Phillips, who defeated Sabian Arana 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

USV starts strong, holds off Lincolnview

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley scored all of its runs in the first two innings, including five in the first frame, and then held off Lincolnview the rest of the way for a 6-3 victory in the non-league baseball matchup.
