Ben Logan powers past Bellefontaine

BELLEFONTAINE — Kenzie Heater had a triple and three RBIs and Tahlsa Bowshier, Kinzie Jones and Kierstynn Terry had two RBIs each as Ben Logan ripped Bellefontaine 11-2 in a Division II softball sectional contest on Tuesday afternoon.

Campers Care 5K set

WILLIAMSTOWN — Sulphur Lake Campground, located north of Williamstown on U.S. 68, will host a Campers Care 5K Walk/Run at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23.

Raiders get off to strong start at CBC track

GRAHAM — The Ben Logan girls track team is in third place after the first day of the Central Buckeye Conference track and field meet at Graham High School on Tuesday. The Raiders, who received a second place finish from Coreen Crosby in the high jump (5 feet), have 15 points with three events completed.

Kenton High trying new way of raising funds for athletics

Kenton High School coaches and athletes have long gone out into the community seeking financial support from area businesses and residents to help defray the costs of such things as uniforms, camps and other expenses. In the past each different Wildcat athletic program has raised funds on its own.

Soccer tryouts slated in Forest

FOREST — The Riverdale Soccer Club will be hosting tryouts for open positions and the possible formation of new teams for the following age groups: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 for both boys and girls. Tryouts will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 20 at the Riverdale Soccer Complex, 350 West Dixon St., Forest.

Big winners

Brian Manns (left) and Ron Manns (center) won the Trophy Bassmasters 37th Annual Indian Lake Spring Open bass tournament. They caught five bass that weighed 14.14 pounds for first place and the $2,500 grand prize.
