The Hardin County Pioneers track team came home with seven gold medals, five silver medals and three bronze medals, plus a fourth and fifth place in the track events last weekend in Columbus State Games.

The Trophy Bassmasters competed on Knox Lake recently with very favorable results. Twelve anglers made the trip east of Fredericktown to the small inland lake and all 12 had at least 2 keepers of 12 inches or more.

Golf outing to benefit D.A.R.E. set

The first Hardin County D.A.R.E. Golf Outing Fundraiser is planned for Aug. 15 at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton. The cost is $50 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart and dinner immediately following the tournament. Kenton 7-on-7 canceled

The Kenton High School football 7 on 7 tournament and lineman challenge that was scheduled for Thursday has been canceled because of wet fields at the school.

First Farm champions

The First Farm Reds defeated the Dodgers (11-5) and the Indians (10-5) to win the Kenton Little League end of the season tournament. With the wins, the Reds are the end of the season tournament champions and the regular season champions.

Quick Start tennis set for Kenton

Quick Start tennis will begin July 8 for children ages 5-12 at the Kenton High School tennis courts. Quick Start tennis is designed for smaller children to allow them to learn to play on a smaller court with larger balls and a shorter and lighter racket.
