FOSTORIA — The Riverdale Black 12u softball team scored seven runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to pull away for a 23-7 victory over Fostoria on Monday.

ROUNDHEAD — Travis Compton loves to run. The 2014 Upper Scioto Valley graduate is trying to spread that love to others as he recently started the ‘Never Stop Running’ club in Roundhead.

ADA — For 11-year-old Cami Hazelton gymnastics started as something fun to do in her house. Now it’s become something more. Cami, the daughter of Travis and Rebecca Hazelton of Ada, won her second straight gymnastics state title during the spring.

The Kenton Galaxy finished up the spring soccer season at 8-1-1 and were U14/15 division 1 champs. The team recorded five shutouts and outscored the opponents 32-6 during the season.

LIMA — The Locos Express youth baseball program is having tryouts for the 2016 summer season at Simmons Field, home of the Lima Locos, on July 13 and 14 for 13-and-younger to 18-and-younger teams. The Trophy Bassmasters took their annual trip to Bellville, Mich., to compete on Belleville Lake which is loaded with smallmouth bass. Although they do not grow to a giant size as in Lake Erie they more than make up for it by being very plentiful.
