Bame sets HN record

DOLA — Nicholas Bame set a Hardin Northern school record Tuesday night. He won the 400-meter dash in 51 seconds to help the Polar Bears finish third in a quad track and field meet. The previous record was set in 1988 by Jeff Castle, who finished the race in 51.3 seconds.

Falcons win meet

BLOOMDALE — Riverdale’s boys edged Elmwood, 83-80, and the Falcons girls were 113.5-53.5 winners in a track and field meet Tuesday at Elmwood. Bowling Green Christian Academy scored eight points in the boys competition.

BL edges Northwestern

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan defeated Springfield Northwestern by one run for the second straight day in Central Buckeye Conference baseball Tuesday. The Raider used a four-run fourth inning to propel them to a 5-4 victory.

Curtis pitches HN to win with no-hitter

DUNKIRK — Micheala Curtis pitched a no-hitter Tuesday as Hardin Northern defeated Perry 10-0 in five innings in Northwest Central Conference softball. Curtis walked only one batter and struck out four in five innings.

Bulldogs dominate McComb, 17-0

ADA — Ada remained unbeaten with a 17-0 five-inning softball victory over McComb on Tuesday. The Bulldogs (4-0) scored three runs in the first, eight in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth.

USV falls to W-G, 11-7

McGUFFEY — Waynesfield-Goshen scored five second-inning runs and held on for an 11-7 softball victory over Upper Scioto Valley on Tuesday. The Rams trailed 9-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. USV scored three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to cut into the Tigers’ lead.
