WEST LIBERTY — The Ben Logan boys cross country team finished third with 54 points in the Logan County Cross Country Meet at the Ohio Caverns on Tuesday night.
ELIDA — The Hardin Northern volleyball team improved to 5-0 on the season, topping Elida in four games 25-12, 25-21, 17-25, 25-6.
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s volleyball season seems to be trending in the right direction. After dropping a pair of matches to open the season, the Falcons picked up their second straight win Monday night, defeating Ridgemont in three games, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.
BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan cruised past Ada 29-27, 25-17, 25-6 Monday night to improve to 4-0 on the young volleyball season. The Raiders were led by an evenly balanced attack as Bri Frazier and Coreen Crosby each recorded 12 kills.
St. Marys swept Kenton 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League tennis match Monday night. In singles action, St. Marys’ Clare Caywood was a 6-2, 6-2 victor over Mykaela Schriber, Hanna Felver topped Kelsey Flowers 6-0, 6-0 and Jennifer Brown bettered Abby Hartshorn 6-0, 6-2.
NORTH BALTIMORE — Shelby Alloway had a big night for Hardin Northern as the Polar Bears swept North Baltimore 25-15, 25-21, 25-22 in a nonconference volleyball match Monday night. Alloway had 14 kills, six aces and four digs to lead the Polar Bears, who improve to 4-0 on the season.
TECUMSEH — Tecumeseh defeated Ben Logan 4-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference girls soccer matchup Monday night. Ben Logan goalkeeper Katelyn Shellenberger had “several nice saves in goal,” according to coach Dave Evans. The Raiders play at London on Saturday.
The Kenton Middle School volleyball teams defeated Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday afternoon. The eighth grade Wildcats won 25-16, 16-25, 25-18.
Kenton found a way to score Saturday night and kept going to it, getting a hat trick from Drew Hoppe as part of a 5-2 nonconference boys soccer victory over Upper Sandusky. The Wildcats (2-1-1) thought they had a tactical advantage heading into the game that started nearly 90 minutes late due to weather and quickly exploited it.
