Riverdale sweeps tri-meet

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Both Riverdale’s girls and boys were winners in a home tri-meet against Arlington and Liberty-Benton on Tuesday. The Falcon girls won 93-55 over Arlington, with Liberty-Benton scoring 27 points.

Rams start well, hold on for 13-8 victory

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley jumped out to a 12-run lead and held on for a 13-8 victory over Temple Christian in Northwest Central Conference baseball Tuesday. The Rams led 7-0 after two innings and 13-1 after four, but Temple Christian scored four in the fourth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh to cut into the Ram advantage.

Big inning lifts Falcons to 12-1 win

RAWSON — Riverdale started slowly offensively but exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning to take a 12-1 victory against Cory-Rawson in Blanchard Valley Conference softball action Tuesday. The Hornets (1-5, 1-4 BVC) scored once in the first inning and held it until the Falcons (5-4, 4-1 BVC) got two runs in the third inning.

HN loses first NWCC softball contest

DUNKIRK — Riverside handed Hardin Northern its first-ever Northwest Central Conference softball loss Tuesday, topping the Polar Bears 7-0. Riverside pitcher Lauryn Davis held the Polar Bears to four hits, all singles.

HN girls grab second

DOLA — North Baltimore edged Hardin Northern for first place on the girls side of a track tri-meet Tuesday. North Baltimore scored two more points than the host Polar Bears, winning 63-61. McComb had 40 points.
