Swing thoughts: April 25, 2016

The week ended with rain so the Spring League was canceled and it was not decided whether to add yet another week to the schedule. But with the beginning of a new week, another league will start its seasonal play.

BL’s Ricketts headed to Findlay

Becoming an Oiler

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan High School senior Grant Ricketts will be taking his golf game next season to the University of Findlay. Ricketts signed his letter of intent on Wednesday to play golf at the Division II school where he will major in computer science to pursue a career in cyber security.

HN falls to R’side

DeGRAFF — Riverside scored the final four runs Thursday to top Hardin Northern 4-2 in Northwest Central Conference softball. The Polar Bears (7-4, 6-2 NWCC) scored twice to take the lead in the second inning.

HN topped on road

DeGRAFF — Riverside defeated Hardin Northern 11-0 in five innings Thursday in Northwest Central Conference baseball. The Pirates scored four runs in the first, five in the fourth and ended the game with a pair runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Rams to hold on to beat LTC

LIMA — Upper Scioto Valley jumped out to an 11-run lead and held on to defeat Temple Christian 18-13 in Northwest Central Conference baseball Thursday. The Rams scored three runs in the top of the first and eight in the second for the 11-0 lead.
