HN loses first NWCC softball contest

DUNKIRK — Riverside handed Hardin Northern its first-ever Northwest Central Conference softball loss Tuesday, topping the Polar Bears 7-0. Riverside pitcher Lauryn Davis held the Polar Bears to four hits, all singles.

HN girls grab second

DOLA — North Baltimore edged Hardin Northern for first place on the girls side of a track tri-meet Tuesday. North Baltimore scored two more points than the host Polar Bears, winning 63-61. McComb had 40 points.

Terrill Webb earns HCAC award

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University junior Terrill Webb, a Kenton graduate, shattered her own school record by a foot in the pole vault at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Bad start hurts Ada

VAN WERT — Lincolnview scored 11 runs in the first inning Monday and went on to defeat Ada 15-1 in Northwest Conference baseball. The Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the first, but the Lancers went ahead 11-1 after the inning. Aaron Everhart had two of Ada’s four hits, including a double, and scored the Bulldogs’ only run.

KHS’s Kessler shuts down Columbian

TIFFIN — For his second straight start, Kenton’s Dalton Kessler was nearly unhittable. Kessler pitched a two-hit shutout Monday – and had a no-hitter through five innings – as the Wildcats defeated Tiffin Columbian 10-0 in six innings.
