In May, 25,000 people are expected to visit the American War Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten in the Netherlands. It is the last resting place for 8,301 Allied soldiers, including a Hardin County man, who gave their lives to liberate Europe from the Nazis during World War II.

A joint meeting of Kappa and Lambda Chapters of Delta Kappa Gamma Intl. was held at the Bucyrus Public Library on April 9 at 10 a.m. Both Lambda President Marsha Barnes and Kappa President Ann Frisch were introduced by Pamela Henney.

Kenton appeared to be in pretty bad shape Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats trailed Riverdale by six runs after the top of the fourth inning in a nonconference softball contest. But Kenton rallied and emerged with a 7-6 victory in eight innings on a walkoff home run by freshman Alivia Purtee.

ADA — Ada lost its first game of the season Wednesday, falling 2-0 to Bath in nonconference softball action.

DUNKIRK — Hardin Northern had to battle Wednesday to stay undefeated in Northwest Central Conference softball.
