Olivia Elise Ledley and Nicholas Daniel Lee Simpson are announcing their engagement and upcoming marriage. Olivia is the daughter of Tom and Susie Ledley of Ridgeway.

The house at the corner of Main and Letson streets in Kenton was razed Monday morning so work could begin this summer on the improvements to Letson Avenue, formerly known as Fairground Road.

McGUFFEY — The pilot program started at Upper Scioto Valley and two other districts this year to train students in workforce skills is growing by leaps and bounds. Superintendent Dennis Recker told the board of education Monday evening USV, Indian Lake and Fairlawn will be joined this fall by another 15 districts in the Straight A Grant.

Students at Kenton Elementary School get a closer look at Riley, the main character in the puppet show entitled “Riley’s Adventure.” The production was presented by the Keep Toledo and Lucas County Beautiful organization and emphasized the importance of “reducing, reusing and recycling.”

The Kenton-OHP FFA chapter visited state convention in Columbus on May 5-6. Kolt Buchenroth was chosen to be a part of the Ohio Ag net to report and record all events of the evening.

Two Kenton High School classmates from the class of 1937 met at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. on April 23 and the decades between their last meeting melted away. John D. Wheeler, of Indianapolis, flew to Washington, DC, on a Honor Flight with his son Ron as his guardian for the trip.
