TIFFIN — Megan Carey got the Division III, Region 10 meet Friday started with a bang for area girls. In the first race of the night, Carey ran to a regional title in the 100-meter hurdles.

When Doug Seiler takes his place as the grand marshal of Kenton’s Memorial Day Parade, he will become the first Vietnam veteran to be so honored.

DAYTON — Kenton sophomore Lauren Johnson was feeling pretty good after a personal best throw of 114 feet, 1 inch on her second attempt of the discus finals moved her into fourth place during Division II regional competition in Dayton on Thursday.

DAYTON — Ben Logan’s Coreen Crosby qualified for the state track meet in the high jump during the first day of Division II regional competition in Dayton on Thursday. The Raider junior finished third in the event with a leap of 5 feet, 1 inch.

The Lynn Valley Farmers 4-H group met on Wednesday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at the Lynn Township Hall. The meeting was called to order, and roll call was answering the question “What is your favorite pizza topping?”

All Aboard Ohio, the non-profit advocacy group for passenger rail and mass transit, held its annual meeting May 21 at the Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant in Columbus. Theresa Allen, of Forest, attended.

On Wednesday, May 25 at 1:45 p.m., the Hardin Northern community gathered in the varsity gym to recognize students for their academic achievements. Principal Joe Hoelzle welcomed all in attendance and thanked them for supporting the students in their most important endeavor, academics.

ADA — In a joint venture, Ada Kiwanis, Hardin Pioneer Aktion Club, Simon Kenton School staff and members of Harco Industries were able to make one little girl very happy as school comes to a close this year.
